The Department of Psychology, established in 2012 within the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences at Hasan Kalyoncu University, started its activities by taking its first students with an additional quota in the 2012-2013 academic year. The main objective of the Department of Psychology is to graduate qualified individuals who have basic psychology knowledge; can turn their learned knowledge into practice; can think critically; have the competence of scientific thinking and conducting scientific research; are aware of ethical values and social responsibilities; follow innovations; will specialize and work in various fields of psychology science; and to contribute to the development of psychology science with the original and qualified scientific studies it will conduct.
The undergraduate program of the Department of Psychology at Hasan Kalyoncu University includes three main groups of courses: compulsory, departmental elective, and university-wide elective. The duration of study is four years. Optionally, a one-year English preparatory education can be taken. In order for students to graduate, they must complete a 240 ECTS workload along with the credit load in the course plan of the relevant year.
The program includes a master’s degree program in clinical psychology with and without a thesis, and a doctoral program in clinical psychology.

Research and Publication Activities
Psychology Researches
“Psychological Research” started its publication in 2016 in order to contribute to the development of the field of psychology by bringing original and qualified scientific studies to the field by our department. In the journal, which covers all sub-fields of psychology science, psychopathology, psychotherapy and all science branches related to psychology; research articles, review articles, case reports, letters to the editor, expert opinions, book reviews published in the field of psychology and thesis abstracts are accepted for publication. The publication language of the journal, which is published twice a year, is Turkish and English. The journal, whose seventh issue was published in June 2019, has started to carry out its activities through DergiPark.
