About Us

Hasan Kalyoncu University, Department of Psychology, founded in 2012 under the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences, started its activities by admitting its first students in the 2012-2013 academic year with additional quotas. The main aim of the Psychology Department is to produce qualified graduates who have a fundamental knowledge of psychology, can apply the acquired knowledge, think critically, possess scientific thinking and research skills, are conscious of ethical values and social responsibilities, follow innovations, specialise and work in various fields of psychology, and contribute to the development of psychological science through original and high-quality scientific studies.

The undergraduate program of Hasan Kalyoncu University Psychology Department includes three main groups of courses: compulsory, elective within the field, and university-wide elective studies. The program is four years, and optional one-year English preparatory training is available. To graduate, students must complete 240 ECTS credits, including the credit load specified in the course plan for the relevant year.

Within the program are a thesis and non-thesis master’s program in clinical psychology, a thesis master’s program in addiction psychology, and a doctoral program in clinical psychology.

Mission: To educate research-oriented and practitioner psychologists who can work both domestically and internationally at international standards, contribute to scientific knowledge at a universal level, are sensitive to societal issues, think critically, are open to development and change, and embrace ethical values.

Vision: To be the best in Turkey, among the top one hundred in the world, and to have an internationally recognised Psychology Department where graduates are sought after.
